On October 26, 2024 we gathered at our usual haunt, Bill Schupp park at 1300 Zinnia Ave. in McAllen for our monthly Dutch Oven Gathering.

The Summer heat has finally broken and the morning was very pleasant as we got our site set up for the day.

Here is Homer getting started on a Pumpkin Pie so it would have time to cool before lunch.

Here Randy is browning some fajitas for a fajita soup.

Every good project needs several sets of eyes to keep it on track.  Randy and Homer checking the coals.

Homer has some pork chops in a mushroom gravy.  Can't wait to taste this.

Homer made some cheesy scalloped potatoes to go with the Pork Chops.

Randy made a pan of cornbread to go with the soup.

When the pots hit the table here is what we had

Fajita Soup

Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy

Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Cornbread

And for Dessert, Pumpkin Pie

After we ate everyone was sleepy so tear down was slow but didn't take tooooo long.  Thanks to everyone pitching in to get it done.  These cook stands by Dennis Clute break down nicely and are light and easy to transport.

Hope to see you all on November 23rd for our next DOG.
